The Mabey leadership team brings decades of experience across the construction industry and beyond to direct the company towards its strategic goals, according to Mabey values.
Rod Bennion OBE, Group Chairman, Mabey Holdings
Rod Bennion OBE, Chairman of Mabey Holdings, has more than 50 years’ experience in the construction, property and infrastructure services industries, with a particular emphasis on UK family-run businesses.
In previous roles, Rod served as Chief Operating Officer of the Wates Group and Chairman of Home Group Ltd. Rod is also non-exec Chairman at McNicholas Construction Holdings.
He was until recently Chairman of the Construction Youth Trust and of St Christopher’s Hospice. Rod is a fellow of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors, the Chartered Institute of Building, as well as the Royal Society of Arts.
Juliette Stacey, Group Chief Executive Officer, Mabey Holdings
Juliette Stacey, Group Chief Executive Officer since January 2014, joined Mabey Holdings in 2012 as Group Finance Director, bringing over 20 years of experience from practice and industry.
Extensive experience gained in the Entrepreneurial (£25-250m turnover) practice area at Ernst & Young, where she qualified as a Chartered Accountant, led on to a fulfilling 12 years at Savills, where Juliette progressed through several posts. Holding a board position as Finance Director from 2000, Juliette expanded her role to include Europe and serving as Chief Operations Officer from 2006 to 2011.
Juliette is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, the Institute of Directors and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts. She also represents Mabey on the Infrastructure Board of the Confederation of British Industry (CBI).
Mark Carey, Group Chief Financial Officer, Mabey Holdings
Mark Carey joined Mabey Holdings in February 2014 as Group Chief Financial Officer.
Mark has over twenty years of experience of both listed and private company commercial finance roles in a number of different sectors. After completing a degree in modern languages, he qualified as a Chartered Accountant with KPMG. He then developed his career in business, including eight years at Vodafone, in a number of senior finance roles both in the UK and in Sweden, BUPA, The Carlyle Group, and most recently, at a privately owned energy business.
Mark is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and the Royal Society of Arts. He represents Mabey on the Council of the CBI in the South East of England.
Kate Beauchamp, Group Chief Legal Officer, Mabey Holdings
After joining Mabey Holdings in late 2013, Kate was appointed to the Mabey Holdings Board as Group Chief Legal Officer in February 2014. She is responsible for overseeing all legal and ethical matters across the Mabey Group. Prior to joining Mabey, Kate acted for a wide selection of Governmental departments, public and private companies in both City and large regional law firms and as a Legal Consultant both training and advising lawyers on new legal developments and complex areas of law. She also spent time as an academic lecturer specializing in real estate, equity and trusts.
Kate is a practicing solicitor and a member of the Law Society and regularly contributes to forums on ethics and compliance issues affecting UK and international business.
Nick Yancich, CEO, Mabey Inc.
Nick Yancich is CEO of Mabey Inc., headquartered in Elkridge, Maryland. He joined Mabey in 2012 as the CFO and Sr. Vice President of Finance and was appointed as CEO in October 2014. Prior to that, Nick was CFO of AVI-SPL, Inc., the nation’s largest audio video systems integrator. AVI-SPL provides complex audio video solutions to large commercial and government entities.
Nick also served as CFO to SPL, Inc. prior to its merger with AVI and subsequent sale to Silver Lake Partners. In addition, Nick previously worked in various capacities for Constellation Energy and was CFO of the company’s unregulated operations group which managed over one thousand union and non-union employees. Nick graduated from the University of Maryland with a bachelor’s degree in accounting and has also earned his master’s degree in finance from New York University.
Michael Treacy, CEO, Mabey Bridge
Michael Treacy has over 25 years’ experience in construction and is a Chartered Engineer and holds an MBA. He has been responsible for delivering major projects worldwide such as Mumbai Airport, Venetian Macau, and Westfield White City. Prior to this he was CEO of AIC Steel and Graham Wood Structural. Michael was MD of Gillespie UK for 8 years.
Gordon MacDonald, CEO, UK Hire
Gordon’s thirty year career spans both operational management and human resources at PLC board level across a number of sectors including construction and retail. He was managing director of Elliot Hire, and two Wolsley Group subsidiaries – Build Centre and Encon. Previously he was Chief Operating Officer of furniture manufacturer and retailer MFI, and HR director of the Safeway supermarket chain. A Mentor with Advanced Boardroom Excellence, Gordon also supports other CEOs and Senior Directors managing the people dynamics in business transformations. He is a keynote speaker at International Conferences on managing change in the workplace.
Brendon Flaxman, CEO, Mabey Pty
Brendon Flaxman is CEO of Mabey Pty, headquartered in Brisbane, Australia. Brendon has more than 20 years’ experience in the construction services and property sectors. He joined Mabey in 2012 through the acquisition of Aplant and served as National Operations Director responsible for revenue growth, operational efficiency and safety. He was appointed CEO in October 2016. Previously Brendon was a franchise managing director at Century 21 Real Estate, Australia’s leading real estate business serving residential and commercial customers. In addition, Brendon has had a range of sales and management roles with the construction hire company Coates Shorco Sykes.
