Mikab Corporation
When New Jersey based Mikab Corporation was contracted to build and install three radio towers for their customer, Mabey's DuraBase® temporary roadway mats provided the jobsite access solution they required.
Mabey's Matting Operations Manager, James Daniels, worked closely with Mikab to develop a solution utilizing 2,151 DuraBase® mats to cross 2,400' of loose, muddy and environmentally sensitive ground. Because of the strength and durability of the mats, Mikab's 27 trucks were able to safely access the jobsite without the ground disturbance or difficult placement commonly associated with wooden mats. In addition to trucks and tools - and thanks to the strength of Mabey's matting - Mikab was also able to transport an 85 ton pile driving rig, concrete pump and a 110 ton hydraulic crane to their jobsite. Finally, because Mabey's mats provide easy restoration to pre-work conditions, Mikab will be able to minimize the environmental impact of their work and quickly remove the temporary roadway after the project is completed. By working with Mabey installers and on-site technicians, Mikab was able to access their jobsite and can complete their install safely and on schedule.
