1. Pair of 10T pullers set up ready for use. An air pump powers the hydraulics. Each cylinder can be separately controlled.
2. Shoe at top of puller post. (Bottom shoe similar).
3. Preparation of bed for next culvert section.
4. Tokstrip fitted to both verticals and bottom edge of female end. The Tokstrip needs heating to soften.

5. Tokstrip fitted to top edge of male end of next culvert section.

6. Lifting in next culvert section. Note chains at the rear (female) end have been shortened by two links so the culvert section dips forward slightly.

7. Pulling beam brought into position.

8. Short chains connected to the two pullers.

9. Slack taken up ready to pull. Not the towbars in the background. These will be used later to pull the following three units - which avoids relocating the two pullers every time.

10. Final pulling into position using 1800mm long towbars. (Note laser beam and target to maintain correct alignment.) The next pull will be with 3600mm long towbars and the one after that with (1800mm + 3600mm) towbars. The pullers therefore only need relocating after pulling four units.

11. Installation of culverts 75% complete.
