Mabey Bridge & Shore is seeking an experienced CDL CLass A Driver to be based out of the Jacksonville, FL location.
Duties / Responsibilities:
1. Driver is responsible for ensuring that his vehicle and equipment complies with DOT guidelines, including but not limited to:
- Complete a “Driver’s Daily Log” for each day of the month, regardless of whether they are on or off duty. The driver log must be filled out completely and accurately.
- Do a quick visual inspection of the vehicle at the start of a driving day.
- Attach fuel receipts to their log and list mileage traveled in each state.
- Show fuel stop on driver grid located on driver log.
- Complete a “Driver’s Vehicle Inspection Report” at the end of each day of driving. If a driver notes any items to be repaired, the repairs must be done before the vehicle is placed back in service. Once the repairs have been completed, the certified mechanic completing the repair and the driver who originally filled out the report must sign the report confirming that the repairs have been completed.
- All “Logs” must be turned into the Depot Manager each week for forwarding to the Fleet Manager. If the driver is on the road, he or she is to send the log directly to the Fleet Manager on a weekly basis.
- All maintenance and repair copies with driver logs must be submitted to the Depot Manager for forwarding to the Fleet Manager or submit directly to Fleet Manager if on the road.
2. Receive and process all necessary MBSI delivery paperwork when assigned a load to deliver or pickup.
3. Transport load in a safe manner, responsible for securing the load, observing the law and rules of the road.
4. When interacting with customers and co-workers, display a courteous and helpful manner.
When not assigned to drive a vehicle:
- Crew member for the installation, removal, stacking or loading of polyethylene matting products at various work sites.
- Operate wheel loaders, forklifts and other heavy construction equipment as necessary.
- Prepare load tickets, daily site reports, time sheets as necessary.
- Report daily job progress to the Operations Manager.
- Optimize the use of resources for multiple concurrent projects and react to a constantly changing environment.
- Interface with customer project superintendents, subcontractors, and site personnel and collectively work through site related issues.
- Understand and follow all safety guidelines for operating company equipment.
- Conduct Safety Meetings in the field and complete applicable documents.
- Perform and conduct DOT inspection for applicable site vehicles.
- Schedule periodic maintenance of vehicles and machinery.
- Must be fiscally responsible and plan accordingly to handle expenses while traveling.
- Perform manual labor as needed.
- Other duties as assigned by manager.
Requirements:
1. High School Diploma, some college preferred.
2. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
3. Must possess a current DOT CDL Certification
4. At least 5 years of CDL Class A driving experience
5. Must have a good driving record that would pass approval by our insurer
6. Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs.
7. Ability and experience operating wheel loaders, forklifts and other heavy construction equipment
