POSITION: We are looking for a talented, experienced, Business Development Manager to build on MBSI’s success working with the military. This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on leader to develop and implement strategies to increase sales of modular Bridging Systems and services to the US military in the US and globally. This is a key position for MBSI that will report directly to the CEO. The position is located at MBSI headquarters along the Baltimore-Washington corridor.
The US Military Business Development Manager will be results-oriented and have oversight, responsibility and accountability for all modular bridging system sales and services provided to the US Military. Long-term growth will come from increased strategic focus on understanding US military needs, relationships, specification processes, procurement processes, delivery, and customer service. This person will also be expected to represent MBSI at key industry group or government contracting events.

QUALIFICATIONS: The US Military Business Development Manager will possess an outstanding track record for successfully and profitably leading organizations through the complex US military appropriation, specification, solicitation, and procurement processes for high-value capital goods and services. This will require significant proactive business development skills with the demonstrated ability to manage and progress an opportunity through multiple decision points and to negotiate at all levels of the customer’s organization. It is important that the successful candidate has experience in understanding the product and service needs of all of the influencers involved in a long business development process. We are looking for someone who is an effective problem solver that has experience understanding and evaluating financial, operational and technical issues and making sound recommendations and decisions. This position requires balancing growth and profitability decisions with longer term corporate objectives while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and business ethics in all dealings. We expect the successful candidate to have solid team building skills and to be comfortable working as part of formal and informal teams within and across the Mabey organization.
We require excellent presentation skills and verbal/written communication skills and the ability to engage at any level in the company, government or customer organization.
The position will be interesting to candidates who have 10 years of significant business development or sales experience within a medium to large organization and are familiar with general business management. The position requires US Military contracting experience, US Citizenship, English fluency, a verifiable college degree, daily reporting to the headquarters location, the ability to obtain a passport and the willingness to travel 35% to 50% in the US and around the world. The position also requires computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office, the successful completion of background check, drug testing, and other employment testing as required by MBSI. Experience using a CRM system is desired. In addition, US Military service, technical, construction, project management, or engineering background is a strong plus.

Compensation: Commensurate with experience $150K (Base Bonus)
