Mabey Bridge & Shore is seeking an experienced Lead Person / Yard Laborer to support the repairing our Durabase Composite Mats out of the Jacksonville, Florida location.

Duties / Responsibilities: 

 

• Direct transfer of depot operations information between Yard Foreman and Depot Manager to mat repair team.
• Maintain company safety standard and enforce safety regulations.
• Load and unload equipment with a forklift/loader.
• Attend safety lectures/forums as necessary to enhance job safety knowledge.
• Interpret job orders to Yard employees and assist in assigning duties.
• Establish or adjust daily tasks to meet changing order priorities.
• Suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work crew.
• Suggest plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
• Monitor minimum stock levels of equipment and supplies.
• Study shipping notices, bills of lading, invoices, orders, and other records to determine order priorities and shipping schedules required to meet customer obligations.
• Oversee incoming and outgoing shipping activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipments.
• Inspects equipment for damages and recommends damage costs.
• Oversee all mat repairs for consistency in quality control.
• Refine methods to find the most efficient, safe way of repairing mats as lessons are learned from repairs.
• Responsible for ensuring welding guns and over valuable equipment locked up in equipment bunkers at end of workday.
• Maintain and inspect all tools.
• Train all depot employees in all aspects of mat repair and tools.
• Other duties as assigned.
